You will be intrigued by an evening celebrating eau de vie! Historically thought of as a cure-all, it simply translates as “water of life” and was considered a traditional spirit in Europe. Jorg Rupf is a living legend in the craft spirits world with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Distilling Institute. He founded St. George Spirits in 1982 and laid the groundwork for the “modern American artisan distillation movement". Originally from Germany where generations of his family practiced the art of distillation, he fell in love with the Bay Area’s nascent food culture. There he began making eau de vie from pears, raspberries, cherries, and even kiwifruit, applying fermentation techniques. You will be guided through tastings of unique cocktails crafted with these distinct spirits by St. George Spirits’ Regional Sales Representative, Samantha Baker, while our chef presents a thoughtfully prepared, five-course, farm-fresh menu to complement the experience.
